Special: Hardening at your Company

The newest service we provide is to harden your parts in your company.
This is interesting if you have big parts or parts which have to stay in the machine while removing causes a complex repositioning.
Also you avoid mounting/unmounting time and work.
The part is ready to use directly after hardening process. (a little oversize caused by laser hardening)
This procedure avoids downtime caused by transport - and not to be forgotten the risk of transport damages.


Technology - Laser Hardening

The surface hardening with high power diode laser (short laser hardening and laser-beam hardening) is increasingly used in industrial manufacturing and toolmaking.

The laser hardening is a process in which the energy input takes place by means of radiation directly to the component surface. The laser beam heats short term and localized the top portion of the workpiece up to the austenitizing temperature of the material used. This leads to a homogenization of the carbon distribution and thus to a spread of a front of austenitization in the material.

Depending on the material used, the austenitizing temperature is about 900 ° C to 1400 ° C and time to temperature at about 3 s to 10 s.

Technology - Laser wire welding

DCAM 2013 is a standard CAD/CAM software,
that was extended with modules for generating robot programs.

  • robot program is nearly ready before part is delivered (if the 3d data was sent before)

Scanning System

Different track widths created with the scanning system.
Fix optics have their limitations when hardening big molds or tools, especally if you need different track width or if you have continously getting wider tracks.
By using the scanning system "LASSY", developed by the Fraunhofer IWS, it is possible to change the laser width and energy distribution during the process without changing the optics.

Laser Power Control

The laser power control consists of the temperature measuring system "E-MAqS" and the control software "LompocPro". This combination results in an uniform hardness track in face of permanently changing geometry of the part. Melted edges and drilling holes will be avoided.

For a short time it is possible to control laser cladding processes.


Spiral-Macro: Parallel Spirals with additional rotation axis
