ALOhardmirror mirror system
Laser hardening around the corner
Internal surfaces of pipes, raised edges, cavities: in laser hardening, the optics simply can’t reach some spots. So we came at it from a different angle. Our mirror system directs the laser beam to where the optics themselves won’t fit, so that it hits the surface at a right angle. After all, hardening works best at a right angle. Typical parts: forming dies, rollers and shafts, conveyor screws, gear racks.
In operation
Wear protection in hard-to-reach places
90° instead of oblique
At a right angle to the surface
The mirror redirects the laser beam, for example onto the flank of a roller. There it hits the surface of the part at a right angle, which is exactly what surface hardening needs.

Edges, cavities, internal surfaces
Reaches what usually stays in the shadows
Raised edges, cavities, the inside of pipes and cylinders: these are areas hardening optics can’t reach directly. With the mirror, we harden them too, instead of leaving exactly these spots unhardened.
Laser hardening
Hard surface, tough core
High surface hardness, minimal distortion: little to no rework needed. The laser heats only the area that needs to be hardened. That saves energy and time.

Quality assurance
Controlled and tested
Laser power is controlled, hardness is tested afterward. So you get the hardness of your part in black and white.
Mobile laser hardening
Too big to ship? We’ll come to you.
Some parts don’t like to travel, like 14-meter-long, 25-metric-ton pressure sleeves from a forging press. We hardened them with our ALOflex mobile system right at the customer’s site. That saves transport, cost and risk.
