Marine Repair
SMM Hamburg, September 1–4, 2026 – Hall B2, Booth B2.EG.206
On-site repairs – on the part, at the berth, in the dock.
From September 1–4, 2026, we will be showcasing our mobile laser repair systems at SMM Hamburg, Booth B2.EG.206. Narrow ALOpowderslim powder nozzle for tight geometries such as crankshafts, internal coating applications for cavities, and a compact robot that fits through narrow ship hatches.
We also offer component repair as a contract manufacturing service – right on site.
Get your free ticket: Just send a quick email with your preferred date to our booth.
ALOpowderslim
Weld where others can’t reach
It reaches between the crank webs and into the bearing journals – exactly where a marine crankshaft has its critical areas. On display at the booth: a 1.20-meter-long crankshaft that has already been treated with the ALOpowderslim.

ALOpowderID
Laser cladding from the inside
Internal cladding head with a 60° angled nozzle. Coats and repairs stern tubes, cylinder liners, and blind holes – from the inside, up to 1,000 mm deep, starting at Ø 70 mm.
Systems engineering
Mobile robot systems
Compact robot systems for on-site use. Small enough for cramped engine rooms, powerful enough for welding applications, and light enough for two people to handle. This makes the welding process suitable for ship repairs at the berth or in dry dock.

Cladding and laser hardening
Corrosion and Wear Protection
Protection against corrosion, wear and cavitation – through cladding with cobalt-chromium-based hard alloys or laser hardening. For components that are exposed to saltwater and friction on a daily basis – shafts, bearing surfaces, pump housings, valve seats, and impellers.
We master metal.
Components we repair
Gearbox input shaft

The damaged gear teeth were milled off and re-welded in multiple layers. After turning to the final dimension, the shaft is once again dimensionally accurate and capable of withstanding operational loads.
Hollow shaft from the mining industry

2.6 tons, 1.80 m long, and damaged on the inside. By applying an interior coating, we restored the inner diameter from 330 to 315 mm.
Bearing seats in the gearbox

Worn bearing seats in a transmission housing, each reinforced with approximately 1 mm of CrNi steel. Instead of replacing the entire housing, the transmission was back in service after a brief repair.
Easy to find
Here’s where to find us
Hall B2, Booth B2.EG.206. Ground floor, right by the staircase leading to the upper level. As you walk through the hall, you’ll spot us from a distance: the demo crankshaft with the compact welding robot.
We look forward to speaking with you. Please feel free to bring photos or sketches of your components.
